The Four Freedoms Foyer is an introduction to the values of freedom, created for visitors and educational groups next to the monumental Kapittelzaal, where the alumni names are placed on the walls. At its centre is a sculptural furniture piece where visitors can listen to the stories of alumni and freedom fighters; people who choose to speak out and act. Made from wired glass, the piece explores the fragile balance between freedom and imprisonment. Transparent yet reinforced, the material embodies both openness and constraint, inviting reflection on the values it represents.
For the adjacent Kapittelzaal, we designed four graphic carpets, each capturing one of the Four Freedoms. Serving as gathering points for educational groups, the carpets encourage conversation and collective reflection, transforming the historic hall into an active space for dialogue.
